Triphala powder uses and benefits

In ayurveda, Triphal powder is a powerful combination of three herbs

1. Haritaki – Terminalia chebula – Fruit rind

2. Vibhitaki – Terminalia bellerica – Fruit rind.
3. Amla – Emblica officinalis – Fruit
all these three herbs are dried under shade then powdered and filtered to get fine powder.
Some times, Licorice powder can be added for extra benefits.

Benefits of triphala powder 

It is rich in antioxidants thus helpful in anti aging and rejuvenation.
It is good for eyes, spleen, liver and also useful in diabetes
It as good laxative property, help in management of hyperacidity and also improve appetite
It is powerful  herbal bowel and colon cleanser.
It is also used as mouth wash which helps to reduce plaque accumulation and gum inflammation.

 

How to use triphala powder for above benefits


Take 50 grams of Triphala powder with 800 ml of water and boil it to reduce the liquid to 200 ml and filter it. 
This can be used for cleansing the wounds,as a mouth wash and also can be used for internal use.
For easy bowel movements and to relieve gas trouble take five grams at night with warm water.
To use triphala powder as a liver protective and rejuvenation take  2-3 grams one or two times a day with warm or cold water.

Side effects of Triphala powder

 

There are no known side effects. However, to use this product in people with high BP, child, pregnant and lactating mothers, one needs to consult a healthcare expert.
